Of course, from a business point of view, repairing defective models out of warranty is stupid. Of course, it would be more lucrative that all models only last exactly two years and then succumb to the planned obsolescence. But all this has nothing to do with reason!

Repairs
We are one of the last model railway manufacturers who offers spare parts for years and decades and who runs an in-house repair service for models of the brands Leopold Halling, FERRO-TRAIN and Stängl model railways, regardless of when or where they were sold.
Due to the great popularity of the last few months, however, we have to introduce some rules so that we can continue to offer you this service. If you entrust us with a model for repair, we must first test, disassemble and measure it to determine the exact damage. We charge a nominal fee of € 40.00 for this.
As soon as all damage is recorded, we can tell you what the repair would cost. You then decide whether these costs are okay for you.
If you decide not to have the model repaired, you can pick it up again or we will send it back. In this case, we will offset the effort and credit the difference to your customer account and we will automatically deduct the amount from your next purchase.

Our highly qualified and highly motivated employees will always endeavor to repair your model to your satisfaction. You will therefore certainly be able to understand that this extraordinary service comes at a cost. Each commenced ¼ hour costs € 20.00 plus material costs!

It is not always possible to repair or modify your models. There can be a variety of reasons for this. It happens that a model is modified too much. If the drive has been modified or your own light and decoder installations have been made, the risk of damage is simply too great.
Some models can no longer be opened without damaging them. Or the damage is too great and the repair costs are beyond the scope. Sometimes the wishes simply cannot be fulfilled because there is not enough space for a motorization or a decoder. And sometimes even we run out of spare parts!
In this case we will decline the repair service and send the model back to you or you can simply pick it up again. We offset the effort and we will credit the difference to your customer account and we will automatically deduct the amount from your next purchase.
Help us not to become part of the throwaway society and enclose a brief description of the error with your model. What is the problem, when does it occur, what do you think should be done? If possible, attach a picture of the damaged parts (no videos). This helps us with the search and gives us a framework for the scope of the repair.
