News 2025.04 - Narrow Gauge Info

The Mostviertler wishes you a Happy Easter!

And because Easter always has something to do with searching, he would strongly recommend searching the following pages. You will find all kinds of narrow gauge models that are available again after the Lent period of recent years, information on models that are already in production and a small preview of what we can expect in the coming weeks and months.

The Easter Wagon, like the famous Christmas Wagons, is a side project that serves to test a technical production idea in a small series. However, it is also a genuine, extremely rare collector's item at a very favourable price!

We are delighted to announce that the narrow-gauge railway is back! We have had to set up three new shelves to accommodate all the models. Among them are many old favourites, such as the ‘Blunzerl’ wagons and the short frame wagons of the ÖBB 3200 series, but also new and revised models. It's best to get an overview for yourself! At the end of this newsletter you will find a complete list of the available H0e models, even easier and with matching pictures you can find all available H0e models here!

Speaking of available! We have used the new edition of the quickly sold-out ‘Jaro’ generator wagon to update the model. It has been fundamentally revised and now comes fully equipped with handles, door locks, vacuum hoses and the power lines that are essential for a generator wagon!

The 5090 models will be revised before the new edition. We have already been able to demonstrate the new, superior drive technology to many of you at the first annual in-house exhibition and we hope that everyone else will not miss the opportunity to get to know it next week in Tulln, but this much can be revealed - you will not hear it coming!

In response to popular demand, we are producing a series of wooden goods wagons. There will be classic, brown ÖBB variants, previously unrealised variants with two platforms as H0e models and pretty much every service wagon that has ever travelled on Austrian narrow-gauge tracks. The models are delivered ‘almost ready to run’. They are painted and printed and the running gear is already assembled. The final assembly is highly enjoyable and over far too quickly, and the end result will fill you with real modelling pride!

The first „Salzburger Lokalbahn“! In July 1907, the ‘Rote Elektrische’ (Red Electric) connection from Salzburg Local Railway Station to Drachenloch station was opened, and shortly afterwards the section of the line from the German border was electrified. As early as its first year of operation, 15 passenger cars were in service. However, the city and local railway also always transported goods, especially marble, sand and cement. In the interwar period, a buffet car was even added to increase the attractiveness of the railway.

Back to a new century! The Graz tramway was electrically powered from 1898. The already uniformly green set dates from the years 1900 to 1912 before the open railcars were modernised, windscreens were installed and the lyre bars gradually gave way to the more reliable scissor bars. First individually, later as a set, the Grazer Tramway brought the people of Graz into the city.

News 2025.07 - The first E-Locos in Mixnitz – St. Erhard

    2025-07-18

Back to the past! In February 2025, the narrow-gauge railway returned to HALLING in the form of two blue Mixnitz electric locomotive models. Today, history takes a step back into the past. The narrow-gauge Mixnitz-St. Erhard line, which is only 11 kilometres long, was built in 1913 as part of the development of the magnesite deposits in Breitenau am Hochlantsch. The two electric locomotives ‘Breitenau’ and ‘Hochlantsch’ with the Bo axle arrangement were delivered by AEG in the same year and used for mixed operation of passenger and goods trains.
