News 2025.03 - New cbmodels®

New cbmodels®

With the new edition of the combined white and colored glass collection containers, cbmodels® is once again bringing recycling to the plant. The glass recycling containers are the ideal addition to the existing cbmodels® waste containers and are available in the familiar quality in different versions. Each plastic model is painted in prototypical multi-color, printed on two or four sides in multi-color and is also refined with etched nickel silver hooks.

The variants for Vienna cover the period from the introduction in 2006 (item no. 23201), with modified pictograms from around 2011 (item no. 23202) and in the current version from around 2019 (item no. 23203). The containers have the distinctive warning stripes printed on all corners for the first time in the model version. Furthermore, the Viennese variants have advertising poster holders on both ends. The miniatures have of course also taken this special feature into account, with two of 36 different, randomly selected advertising posters printed on each.

The items 23204 (version from approx. 2006) and 23205 (version from approx. 2016) can be found in this form throughout Austria and can therefore be used universally and depending on the era on your own layout. Two color outliers were also implemented. Item 23206 is completely silver in color, the prototypes are located in Innsbruck, Laa/Thaya and Hagenbrunn, among others.

The city of Villach (item no. 23207), on the other hand, has chosen a light/reseda green as its base color; this seventh variant forms the perfect conclusion to the new edition of the used glass containers from cbmodels®.

Improved new edition of a legend! When it became apparent in the 1970s that freight and passenger transport on the StLB would have to be separated in order to reduce journey times, the management of the state railways decided to develop a railcar with diesel-electric power transmission. The contract for its manufacture was awarded to the Vienna-based company Knotz, which at that time was known for producing custom designs in rail vehicle construction, even in small quantities. The first railcar was delivered to the Murtalbahn in the fall of 1980. Many more examples of this vehicle family were to follow until 1999, going to the StLB, the Zillertalbahn, and the ÖBB.

News 2025.07 - The first electric Trams in Graz

    2025-08-06

Back to a new century! The Graz tramway was electrically powered from 1898. The already uniformly green set dates from the years 1900 to 1912 before the open railcars were modernised, windscreens were installed and the lyre bars gradually gave way to the more reliable scissor bars. First individually, later as a set, the Grazer Tramway brought the people of Graz into the city.
