News 2026.08 - Cologne K4000
Dear Sir or Madam, dear friends of Halling,
This time, we are pleased to announce an exciting new model from Halling. We are absolutely delighted to be able to announce a Cologne K4000 again after 20 years. The first model to go into production will be car 4078 in the current “Matchstick” livery.

The pictures show the first, still partially unfinished hand sample from the printing shop, which has been completed in part using components from earlier models.
As the K4000s almost always operate in multiple-unit formation, at least one additional running number in this livery will naturally follow. Further, including older, colour variants will also be produced.
Here are some details about this thorough reissue of this long-awaited classic:
The model will be fully printed using our state-of-the-art UV flatbed printer and pad printing technology. All you need to do is add the destination displays of your choice. The graphic design has been completely revised compared with the 2006 version and brought up to date, including the pram and wheelchair symbols.
The model will be available both as a static version with metal wheelsets and pantograph, and as a powered version equipped with two whisper-quiet ALX bell-anchor motor bogies.
It features a NEM651 interface, 4 powered axles and 4 current-collecting axles and is supplied with exterior mirrors as well as destination stickers for both the interior and exterior.
The order numbers are KK4-S78-M and KK4-S78-S.
We have just started production and expect delivery in September/October. We would already be delighted to receive your pre-order via our webshop, as this will help us estimate the quantities that need to be produced. Thank you!

We are only just getting started with the 4000 series and already have quite a few ideas planned. Our new printing system allows us to produce small batches, which we can manufacture alongside our regular series.
However, advertising liveries can only be produced if the necessary permission from the respective advertiser is available.
