News 2025.07 - The first E-Locos in Mixnitz – St. Erhard
Back to the past!
In February 2025, the narrow-gauge railway returned to HALLING in the form of two blue Mixnitz electric locomotive models. Today, history takes a step back into the past. The narrow-gauge Mixnitz-St. Erhard line, which is only 11 kilometres long, was built in 1913 as part of the development of the magnesite deposits in Breitenau am Hochlantsch. The two electric locomotives ‘Breitenau’ and ‘Hochlantsch’ with the Bo axle arrangement were delivered by AEG in the same year and used for mixed operation of passenger and goods trains.

The prototypically green painted locomotives with their neat decorative lines differ in numerous prototypical details and arrive fully equipped with reworked, hand-coloured accessories. The new bell-type armature drive not only provides smooth running characteristics but also plenty of space and a complete view through the driver's cab. The specially developed circuit board not only offers alternating light, but also the option of simply digitising the small engine or even equipping it with sound
The beginnings of the more than 30-year long and varied history of the Mixnitz models are no longer known. We only know that Leopold Halling Senior produced them, at that time still with white metal locomotive bodies, in 1996 for Stängl Modellbahnen and the following year for TiH0 Modelleisenbahnen. We have excellent news for all those who still own a model from the model railway neolithic era! The new drives with alternating light and, on request, factory digitisation are compatible! You can bring your model into the new millennium with a few simple steps and almost no tools!

The Mostviertler has a new showroom!
Our new boss, Mr Joachim Haselmayer, also known as the Mostviertler, had already been running the Mostviertler model railway station very successfully for several decades before he bought a bag of fleas called HALLING Modelle. It started out as a small model railway shop, idyllically located in the old railway station in Wieselburg a.d. Erlauf, but it has long since outgrown its premises.
