News 2021.08 - 25 years of FERRO-TRAIN! - Anniversary set
H0e modelling then and now!
It all began when a small, unknown company presented a small, fine brass model of a well-known steam locomotive on September 28th, 1996. After a long wait, the partially pre-ordered models Mh6 museum locomotive (ex ÖBB 399.06) were presented to an astonished audience for the first time. For this occasion, a train was put together and festively decorated - and FERRO-TRAIN was born.
To celebrate 25 years of FERRO-TRAIN, we are offering the Mariazell anniversary train "25 years of FERRO-TRAIN" as a set (4 models) in an exclusive and strictly limited series of 50 pieces.
As for the models in the Mh series, these models also come with signed certificates that confirm the authenticity and uniqueness of your set.
The 4 models in the set are based on the popular models from Stängl Modellbahnen.

It all started when on 09/28 in 1996 a small, unknown company presented a small, fine brass model of a well-known steam locomotive. After a long wait, the partially pre-ordered models of the Mh6 museum locomotive (ex ÖBB 399.06) were presented to an astonished audience for the first time. For this occasion, a train was put together and festively decorated - and FERRO-TRAIN was born. Hard to imagine, but back then there were only a few models of Austrian prototypes in H0e. Stängl Modellbahnen produced the popular 2095, Liliput made models of the U series and Werner Tippelt from TiH0 produced the small 2190 for Dolischo and at Roco the first sets with a 1099 electric locomotive were avaliable. The company's founder, Dipl.Ing. Rudolf Neumann, set out to close this gap.
A short 25 years later, today, the brand FERRO-TRAIN has developed significantly. While the first models, unimaginable today, were produced in Japan (!), the production of the brass models was soon relocated to a branch factory in nearby Brno. The long friendship with Josef Stängl led to the aqusition of the brand Stängl Modellbahnen and it´s injection moulds in 2016.
The demand for brass models has declined over the decades and alternative production methods have found their way. Today FERRO-TRAIN produces not only the elaborate brass models but also much less time-consuming plastic models from Stängl Modellbahnen in small series. In addition to components made of laser-cut wood or plastic, etching technology is still one of the most important production methods for the finest details. Only the resin casting that has been used for a long time, is slowly but surely being replaced by resin components from the 3D printer.
The wagons of the Mariazell Anniversary set "FERRO-TRAIN" are based on the popular models from Stängl Modellbahnen. The numerous differences between the individual cars have been worked out with great care. The unusual lettering on the frame and the smallest details in the numbering of the cars were taken into account, as were some missing window pictograms. All of this is made possible by the most modern printing methods that were still dreamed of 25 years ago.
The models of the Anniversary train "25 years of FERRO-TRAIN" are offered as a set (4 wagons, no loc) in an exclusive and limited serie. As with the models in the Mh series, these models also come with signed certificates that confirm the authenticity and uniqueness of your set. We ask for your understanding that only one anniversary train can be purchased per customer, the series is strictly limited to just 50 units!
