News 2025.01 - The Tichy ULF

The famous Tichy-ULF is back!

For all those who love the Viennese tram, for all those who missed the first edition and actually for all those who like to eat really good ice cream, we have excellent news this week - the legendary Tichy-ULF is back! The Tichy ice cream parlour, a cornerstone of the Viennese way of life, has had several trams wrapped every year for decades. These extremely smart advertising vehicles have become as much a part of the Viennese cityscape as horse-drawn carriages and coffee houses.

When we offered the first edition in 2017, and we had to do our own research, it was sold out very quickly. The elaborately hand-foiled models have been in constant demand ever since, so it is a particular pleasure for us to be able to make the new edition palatable to you. The second series also has an exemplary car number, but this time we have chosen a short, five-part model!

    The first „Salzburger Lokalbahn“! In July 1907, the ‘Rote Elektrische’ (Red Electric) connection from Salzburg Local Railway Station to Drachenloch station was opened, and shortly afterwards the section of the line from the German border was electrified. As early as its first year of operation, 15 passenger cars were in service. However, the city and local railway also always transported goods, especially marble, sand and cement.     Back to a new century! The Graz tramway was electrically powered from 1898. The already uniformly green set dates from the years 1900 to 1912 before the open railcars were modernised, windscreens were installed and the lyre bars gradually gave way to the more reliable scissor bars. First individually, later as a set, the Grazer Tramway brought the people of Graz into the city.

    News 2025.07 - The first E-Locos in Mixnitz – St. Erhard

    Back to the past! In February 2025, the narrow-gauge railway returned to HALLING in the form of two blue Mixnitz electric locomotive models. Today, history takes a step back into the past. The narrow-gauge Mixnitz-St. Erhard line, which is only 11 kilometres long, was built in 1913 as part of the development of the magnesite deposits in Breitenau am Hochlantsch. The two electric locomotives ‘Breitenau’ and ‘Hochlantsch’ with the Bo axle arrangement were delivered by AEG in the same year and used for mixed operation of passenger and goods trains.

    New rack railway carriages! As promised, we are replenishing our stocks of the fine, small rack railway models from FERRO-TRAIN! But that's not all, we have also taken the liberty of expanding the range.     News 2025.05 - S-Bahn Berlin Re-Design

    The best S-Bahn ever! The 481/482 series consists of electric railcars for conductor rail operation on the S-Bahn. With around 500 quarter trains, it is the most frequently used series of the S-Bahn Berlin. The first pre-series quarter train was presented to the public in 1996. As part of the ongoing refurbishment of the Longevity Project, it is planned to be in service until the 2030s. Since 2019, S-Bahn Berlin has been overhauling and modernising over three hundred quarter trains.
