The Type V, also called V-Wagen, represents the second generation of high-floor vehicles for the Vienna underground. Since 2005, the products produced by Siemens have been running in the entire Vienna subway network except on the U6 line. The six-part- trains represent the successor to the type U railcars and their sub-types. Porsche Design was responsible for the external design of the sets.

With the new edition of the V-car models of the Wiener Linien, some model updates were carried out. The motorized models are factory-equipped with revised electronics, improved driving characteristics and a new PluX16 interface. The models can now be ordered digitized at the factory (WUV-DIGI).

All parts of the multiple unit are offered individually or as sets of control cars and intermediate cars. The newly manufactured models are of course compatible with the available or already delivered models. The high-quality decals enable operation from different lines with several car numbers.
